Moonlighting Production Services offers the benefit of stellar live event production expertise from a company with a strong track record of providing production services since 1987. Gary Massey, one of the founding partners of Moonlighting Production Services, Inc., and Ted Dunbar of Dunbar Lighting, Inc., agreed to join forces in 2003 by merging their highly regarded, successful companies to form Moonlighting Production Services, LLC.
Since the merger, Moonlighting Production Services, LLC, has evolved into one of the largest and most respected event production companies in northern New England. Our experienced production staff includes audio engineers and lighting designers. In addition, we work with a pool of freelance audio and lighting technicians to ensure your event is adequately and expertly staffed.
Ted Dunbar, Partner, Sales and Production, started working for a production company while still in high school in Bangor. He then spent many years as a road manager and studio and live sound engineer while earning his bachelor’s degree in industrial technology from the University of Southern Maine. In 1994, he founded Dunbar Lighting, Inc., which soon became a leader in private and corporate lighting design in Maine.
Lighting the unusual is the usual for Ted, as he introduced “intelligent lighting” to the corporate world in southern Maine. He has designed lighting for presidential visits and ship launches in some truly remarkable venues, including airplane hangars.
Gary Massey, Partner, Operations and Production, first entered the world of technical theater production as a student of the University of Maryland. He began his professional career in 1977, first as a member of the sound department of the New York Shakespeare Festival, then as a sound engineer for Radio City Music Hall.
After moving to Maine in 1984, he established the northern New England branch of Klondike Sound Company and later served as one of the founding partners of Moonlighting Production Services, providing lighting and sound production for concerts, festivals, and corporate and private events throughout New England.
